Deploying plugins from the CDAP Hub

In CDAP there are system plugins and user plugins. System plugins are installed by default with both the CDAP Sandbox and Distributed CDAP. They are available to all namespaces in a CDAP instance.

You can deploy User plugins from the Hub.

The Hub has many plugins that are not part of the CDAP installation. For example, if you want to read or write to Teradata, but don’t see any Teradata sources or sinks in your namespace, go to the Hub and search for Teradata and deploy it.

When you deploy a plugin from the Hub, it appears in the Plugin Palette for the namespace where you initiated the download. It is not available to other namespaces in the CDAP instance.

The Hub allows the CDAP Development team to release new plugins and new versions of plugins outside of the normal CDAP release cycle.
