  1. Upgrade CDAP to a version that will support the new HDP version, following the instructions for Upgrading for Upgrading CDAP via Package Managers.

  2. After upgrading CDAP, start CDAP and check that it is working correctly.

  3. Using the CDAP UI, stop all CDAP applications and services.

  4. Upgrade to the new version of HDP, following Cloudera documentation on upgrading HDP.

  5. Once the upgrade has completed, check that all Ambari services have been restarted. Restart any, if required.

  6. Check that CDAP has been restarted successfully. Restart, if required.
