Looks like there are several ways to configure HiveServer2 server and clients for security. We will need to add support to CDAP to support HiveServer2 security, which doesn't seem realistic to do in a few days. Also, it may be risky because it can be considered a "new feature".

No CDAP changes required for HDP 2.1 with Hive 13, only config changes:
